The many flavours of jazz from big bands, trad bands, jazz sextets and duos, plus blues from well known bands and performers are showcased throughout the town.

This popular Jazz festival returns over three days, from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd October 2010, at a variety of venues from hotels and cafes to outside in the town square of this small Scottish town.

Line-up

Jazz performers who are provisionally taking part in the festival include The Sound Of Seventeen, Brass Impact, The Trossachs Big Band, Kings of Swing, The Snake Davis Band, Mama Coca, King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys, The Milano Hot Jazz Orchestra, Hermitage, The Stu Brown Sextet, The Linley Weir Quartet, The Roger Cull Quartet, Moodswing, Penman's Jazzmen, Winston's Pennine Jazz, The Jon Taylor Quartet, The Maria Speight Quintet, The Jess Abrams Trio, The Bobby Wishart Quintet, The Mikhail Rojkov Quartet, and Havana Swing.

Blues acts include The Revolutionaires, The Dana Dixon Band, Safehouse Blues, The Sourmash Blues Band, B' and The Honey Boys, Wolftrain, Cynthia and the Fabulous Corvettes, The Blues Juniors, Minnie and The Victors, The Urban Poets, The Rosy Blue Blues Band, The Pontiax, Baby Isaac, Daniel Smith, and T-Bone Taylor.

Tickets

An adult weekend rover ticket is priced at £35, a Friday Rover tickets is priced at £12, a Saturday Rover is priced at £20, and a Sunday Rover ticket is priced at £18. Individual event tickets (£5 per person) will be available on the door at the venues (Homecoming Jazz Band Ball £10 on the door for non-rover ticket holder). Rover Tickets entitle the holder to all performances during the valid period of the ticket subject to space being available. Tickets may be purchased from the Festival Office telephone 01877 339399.

Getting there

Callander is the eastern 'gateway' town within The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The town is easily accessed from Junction 10 (Stirling) of the M9 and is located astride the A84 about 15 miles from that junction.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in Callander.
