On site

Festival organiser Rob da Bank has confirmed the main stage will be in a new location for 2010.

As well as the music, Bestival has the world's biggest fancy dress party for 40,000 festival goers - this year's theme has not been announced plus cocktail bars, laughter clubs, a farmers market, kids area, morris dancing, magical moments and more, as one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar.

The Afterburner a 360-degree multi-stage arena that will come alive after dark and late into the night is expected to make a return in 2010. Centred around a 10-metre tower built from jet engine components producing various effects with fire, smoke and water, the heart of the tower is a DJ booth producing the beat for the effects to synchronize to the mayhem!

Disabled info

Bestival's organisers are committed to making the festival as accessible as possible and great efforts are being been made to achieve this. However, Bestival is an outdoor event in a Country Park and on farm land that is predominantly positioned at the bottom of a valley between two hills that rise fairly steeply, and as such it will present challenges for wheelchair users and those with serious mobility issues. However, with a little help here and there it is manageable and Bestival provide free tickets for carers to this end. Carers can apply for a free carers ticket and a disabled pass. The Disabled Camping Area is positioned near to the main Robin Hill entrance. Vehicles with a blue badge (or similar) can park in the disabled camping area. It is about 5 minutes from here to the main arena but it should be noted that this journey will be downhill on the way there and uphill on the way back. There are charging points for electric wheelchairs available upon request and disabled toilets onsite. Contact the organisers if you have further questions.

Opening times

Thursday 9th Sept: The car park will be open from 9am. The box office opens at around 11.30am and the campsites will open at midday.
Fri/Sat/Sun: Car park & box office open at 9am.
Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun: No entry into the site after midnight on any night.
Monday 13th September: Campsites close at 2pm and car parks at 4pm.

Strict under 18s policy

This year's Bestival will be getting strict on under 18s. All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied at the festival by a parent or guardian over the age of 21, with no more than four under 18s are allowed per parent or guardian. If you are lucky enough to look under 21 you might be asked for ID at the entrance and at bars as part of the Challenge 21 initiative - so please bring photo ID with you. Festival organiser Rob da Bank explains, "I don't wanna sound like Constable da Bank but entrance is gonna be v. strict on under 18s travelling solo and in groups."

Car parks moved for 2010

With the site being shuffled around, there's also very important new Bestival travel info. The festival has moved the main camping car parks this year so attendees must look out for and follow the 'CAMPING CAR PARK' signs as they approach the festival. Campervans will be in the same place as 2009. Please follow sign for 'CAMPERVANS'. All Tipi Field / Boutique campers - please look out for 'BOUTIQUE CAMPING' signs so you know where to park for easiest access.

New shuttle bus/drop off point

There will be no shuttle buses at the robin hill entrance this year, this area will be for taxis and drop offs/pick ups, Bestival direct coaches and Big Lemon coaches only. Shuttle buses (from the ferry ports and island towns) will now be dropping off and picking up very near to the main entrance to the campsites.

Ferry returns

For those leaving the island by ferry please arrive no earlier than 1 hour before your departure time on Monday.
