This year Swn happens on just one day with a showcase of some of the best music from Wales and from around the world. DimSwn as it's called takes place on Saturday 18th October 2014 across various venues in and around the centre of Cardiff.

This year, the festival which has grown to such a size that they are now too big to be run by the small team of part-time freelancers, welcomed the return of festival co-founder John Rostron. The event has not had the time to put together a four day Sŵn this year, and this year they offer a one day version.

The line-up has been announced and features A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Baby Queens, Blaenavon, Breathe in the Silence, Bryony Sier, Candelas, Castles, Chris Jones, Cian Ciaran, Clear The Auditorium, Climbing Trees, Cold Committee, Cotton Wolf, Delyth McLean, Gabrielle Murphy, Gengahr, Glass Giants, Golden Fable, Grumbling Fur, Hana, Happyness, Houdini Dax, Kizzy Crawford, Luvv, Martin Carr, Mixalydia, Peasant's King, Plu, Prides, Seazoo, Swnami, Taffy, Telegram, The Amazing Snakeheads, The People The Poet, The Wytches, Trwbador, Wasters, We're No Heroes, and Womans Hour.

Organisers say, "It’s our opportunity to look ahead and re-imagine the future of Swn in Wales today, buoyed by the success of previous events, and the huge support and love we feel from the bands and people who attend each year. Whilst we are gutted that we’ve simply not had the time to put together Swn this year, we are delighted that we’re not leaving October empty.

"We’ve bought together a one-day version of Swn on Sat 18th October, which we’re calling DimSwn. A full day and night of music with, when we’re all done, around 50 bands playing. Yes, tickets will be limited to just 500 on sale, so some people will be disappointed, but we hope you’ll be excited by a packed day at DimSwn and what the future holds for Swn as we embark on this next chapter."
