A creative team who failed in their attempt to celebrate 30 years of Lionel Richie music by making a giant sculpture of his head, have launched a new attempt on Kickstarter to create a massive inflatable of Lionel Richie's head for this year's nautical themed Bestival happening on the Isle of Wight.

The Hungry Castle team's new attempt needs to raise £4,900 to create the interactive immersive experience. There's also a stretch total which would mean an even bigger six metres high head. As people enter one at a time, they will discover at the core of Lionel's Head lies a telephone. When a person answers the phone, they hear "Hello, is it me you're looking for?", and weirder still festival goers may even get the chance to glamp it up in the 6m high head if the team manage to raise £10,000.

Based in Barcelona, the collaborative duo of Dave Glass and Kill Cooper create large-scale works inspired by internet pop culture. Collaborating with artist Alex Sans Massó and Tommaso Gervasini from inflatable manufacturers dropscom, they have spent the last 6 months creating a Lionel Richie Head that's worthy of appearing at Bestival's 10th Birthday Bash on the 5th of September 2013.

The captains of Bestival Josie and Rob da Bank have offered to help, and have even planned a space at Bestivalso Lionel Richie's Head can pop up and say 'Hello' to everyone for the first time. To view Hungry Castle's Kickstarter page , click here.

Taking place at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from Thursday 5th until Sunday 8th September 2013 the nautical themed Bestival is also headlined by Fatboy Slim, Elton John and Snoop Dogg, plus MIA, Franz Ferdinand, Flaming Lips, The Knife, Wu-Tang Clan, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Annie Mac Presents, and so many more. Plus a new arena The Port, Films in the Forest, World Music Day on the Bandstand, The Wishing Tree, Swamp Shack and The Grand Palace of Entertainment.
