Whilst this festival is called Volksfest, it is not prohibitive in letting non-Volkswagon owners attend. Whilst many VW owners camp in special reserved camping beside the main arena, above the arena on the slopes of Newnham Park is open to all, with the added bonus of being able to camp next to your vehicle most of the time. BBQ's (off the ground) are permitted, but not open fires, there are proper festival food stalls in the main arena. The festival is still open for food on Tuesday 5th but no live entertainment and closes at 4pm.

The idea of the event is to offer everyone a chilled out family friendly weekend with lots of entertainment for all. They have two music tents, a comedy tent, children's entertainment, stalls and more, not forgetting the Show'n'Shine VW displays.

Early bird adult (17+) ticket is priced at £45. Festival teenager (13 - 16 yrs) ticket is priced at £20, a festival junior (6 - 12yrs) is priced at £5, children aged 5 years and under have free entry. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
