As rumoured since Friday when a major music publicist invited journalists to a special press conference today, the Madchester scene pioneers are back after 15 years.

The baggy four-piece will play outdoor shows at Heaton Park, Manchester on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th June 2012 followed by a world tour, including Ireland. "We'll ride it until the wheels fall off." said singer Ian Brown.

Tickets will be priced at £55, and tickets are confirmed to go on sale this Friday at 9.30am, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

Ian Brown told the press conference that new material is "definite", so we can expect a new album to follow up to 1994's Second Coming, and their self titled debut released in 1989, as well as the chance to play live.

Sources have revealed to eFestivals that fans can also expect them to be announced to appear at V Festival and the revived Phoenix festival next year.
