Organisers of The Wickerman Festival 2011 are launching a nationwide search to find the ultimate Wickerfan as they celebrate their first decade of music and fun for all ages.

Wickerfans young and old are being asked to showcase their fan status as organisers announce a call to find people who were at the first Wickerman Festival in 2002; come to the festival every year; have Wicker-tattoos or perhaps have named their children after their favourite stage - anything that makes them stand out from other festival fans.

Submissions are being invited in any format - photos, videos, artwork or written - with a deadline of 31 December 2010. They will then be judged by The Wickerman Festival board featuring directors Jamie Gilroy and Sid Ambrose, and festival coordinator Helen Chalmers.

Once crowned, organisers will match the ultimate wickerfan's tickets with the same number they have bought for the 2011 festival and throw in a one-off VIP bundle as well.

Helen Chalmers, festival coordinator, said: "A big part of what makes Wickerman the fantastic music festival it is today is the fans. We want to mark our tenth anniversary by celebrating with the people who know us best and hearing their most memorable Wickerman tales."

Fans are urged to email their unique Wicker-experiences to Laura, Rory or Chris at wickerman@3x1.com by 31 December 2010, and the winner will be announced via the Wickerman website in January 2011.

The tenth Wickerman Festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell Farm in Dumfries & Galloway and takes place from Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July, 2011with the first batch of adult weekend tickets held at the 2010 early bird price of £85 for those aged aged 13+. Every tenth adult weekend ticket of the first batch, however, will be sold at the 2002 price of £23. Kids under 13 are admitted free. Early bird caravan, campervan or trailer tent tickets are priced at £25. To buy, click here.

No acts are confirmed yet for 2011. As well as the the music Wickerfans have enjoyed grass sledging, fun fairs, dance lessons, headphone disco, movie screenings, wood carving and even ice skating at previous festivals.
