Malefice, Blitzkrieg, Edens Curse, and Darkness Dynamite are the latest acts announced for next month's Bloodstock Open Air.

Malefice
Edens Curse, Darkness Dynamite, and Malefice
are the latest three additions for the Sophie Lancaster stage.

Malefice are looking forward to playing Bloodstock, as well as paying tribute to the girl who lends her name to the stage, "We're delighted to be asked to appear on Bloodstock 2009. We're even more honoured to be a part of the Sophie Lancaster Stage, as the disgusting nature of her death is something I speak about on the track 'Sickened' on our latest album 'Dawn Of Reprisal'. Sophie was killed because of the way she looked, and at the end of the day this is no different to being killed because of the colour of your skin or your religious beliefs. We hope this will be an ongoing tribute to Sophie, and support Bloodstock in their efforts to stamp out mindless hatred and hypocrisy wherever it may be.

Meanwhile Blitzkrieg are the final addition to the main stage line-up, and are confirmed as appearing on the Friday. Bloodstock Open Air takes place from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire.

Bands so far confirmed for this year's Bloodstock Open Air include exclusive UK performances by Carcass, Arch Enemy (both Fri headliners) Blind Guardian, Cradle Of Filth (both Sat headliners) with support from Sabaton, Enslaved, and Turisas, plus Amon Amarth, Saxon, The Haunted, Girlschool, Katatonia, Candlemass, Satyricon, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter (Horsemen Of The Apocalypse), and more. As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Tickets are on sale priced at £99.95 for adults and £44.95 for children. To buy tickets, click here.
