The Pigeon Detectives will play secret gig at Leeds Festival

The Pigeon Detectives will be doing a secret set at Leeds Festival this weekend but not at Reading Festival. The band's label, Dance To The Radio, have confirmed that the band are jumping up to support their label mates and friends of the label and are to play a half hour set at 20:50 on the Dance To The Radio stage at Leeds Festival on the Thursday night but won't be at Reading.

The label confirmed a while back that the stage would be going ahead for it's second year and will be featuring performances from Broken Records, Wintermute, The Wallbirds, Dinosaur Pile-Up and Grammatics. The stage is situated on the site of the BBC Introducing Stage.

The dates for Leeds Festival 2008 are confirmed as this bank holiday weekend, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The Main Stage sees Rage Against The Machine, The Killers, and Metallica headlining. The main stage line-up so far announced includes Queens Of The Stone Age, The Fratellis, The Enemy, Biffy Clyro, Serj Tankian, Dizzee Rascal, Taking Back Sunday, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, Anti-Flag, Bloc Party, The Raconteurs, Editors, We Are Scientists, Dirty Pretty Things,The Subways, Tenacious D, Slipknot, Feeder, Avenged Sevenfold, and Dropkick Murphys.

With acts confirmed for the Main, Radio 1/NME, Lock Up/Dance, Festival Republic, Alternative, and BBC Introducing stages. For the line-up for over 150 acts over the weekend, and stage splits, click here.

Tickets have sold out. The price for a ticket was £155 for the 3 days with camping, day tickets are £65, campervans £10, lockers £15, and early entry tickets £10.

On site facilities include: Bars, Cash Points, First Aid & Paramedics, Food & Non Food Stalls, Information. The silent disco will also be making an appearance on Thursday from 11pm 'til 3am, and Friday to Sunday from 11pm 'til 5am with DJ OD.

As with previous years organisers Festival Republic are keen to encourage festival goers to respect the local residents and the environment ,and to encourage everyone to leave their cars at home.
