final WOMAD acts confirmed

The final acts have been confirmed for WOMAD 2005 - which takes place at Rivermead, Reading, from Friday 29th until Sunday 31st July.

The new acts are: CRYSTAL MUSIC (UK); DAVID LOWE'S DREAMCATCHER (UK); FUTURE WORLD FUNK (UK); PETE MOSER (UK); SWAMI (UK) and THE KING SWINGERS (UK) have just been confirmed, and they join a line-up of over 70 artists from 37 countries.

On the Thursday evening, as twilight deepens the festival will come alive with commissioned music, lighting features and some special surprises, featuring Abdullah Chhadeh (Syria), Companie des Quidams (France), David Lowe's Dreacatcher (UK), Matthaios Tsahourides (Greece) and Sheema Mukherjee (India).

The previously confirmed line-up includes Richie Havens, Youssou N'Dour et le Super Etoile de Dakar, Apache Indian & the Reggae Revolution, and many more. See here for the full list of the acts so far confirmed, including day splits.

WOMAD offers live music and much more: with hundreds of participatory workshops for adults and children; late night dance, DJ's and grooves at 'Club WOMAD'; the magical cabaret Spiegeltent; the kids' procession; a traditional funfair; a weekend of shopping in the 'Global Village' with international food, drink, arts, craft and merchandise stalls - plus site deco featuring hundreds of flags, projections, visual art & temporary structures.
