According to a report on the BBC website, it is understood that organisers Mean Fiddler have applied for a licence to stage the Leeds Festival at Bramham Park, near Wetherby.

The event - which has been held at Temple Newsam in Leeds - was refused a licence last year, that was then granted on appeal. There have been concerns about the damage caused to the Temple Newsam site, on top of the trouble that has marred the last night of the Festival.

Eight teenagers were sentenced on Wednesday to between 130 to 240 hours community service after they admitted their part in the trouble, and were also ordered to pay varying amounts of compensation to Mean Fiddler. They were tracked down after West Yorkshire Police published photos of 24 people involved.

Fourty four people were injured, and damage estimated at £250,000 was caused during the violence last August. Three other people who have admitted violent disorder are yet to be dealt with by the crown court, whilst Killingbeck Police have reissued photographs of ten men they still want to trace in conection with the disorder.

Police chiefs have said they will look at the application for the next event before deciding whether to contest it, although they have stated that after the trouble of the last three years they may feel unable to police the event safely.
