Coheed & Cambria are a band with, to the general public, a really stupid name. It sounds to most people like you are going to hear a really tearful emo band that like wearing ties slightly askew. Thankfully – this couldn’t be further form the truth.

This band are hair metal incarnate with a leader singer that resembles a cross between Yogi Bear and Chino Morena (Deftones) – an afro is always going to help make a band more interesting for some reason and it certainly works today.

The rain may have stopped outside and everywhere is once again dry – yet The Concrete Jungle stage is still totally heaving, nobody is at The Radio One stage and Coheed & Cambria have become one of the most talked bands at the festival.

They leap in to a heavy, pounding, penetrating set that screeches from the stage causing fans in the crowd to pack together and surge towards the band whilst masses of security look slightly worried by a demonic crowd.

Energetic, powerful and searing are words that barely describe the impact of Coheed & Cambria. The only real way to understand them is to watch them live.
