The Sun are reporting that Glastonbury Festival will be headlined by Prince, and U2, and Festival organisers are in talks to book Coldplay as the third headliner. The newspaper says, "Prince and rock kings U2 have signed up to top the bill. Coldplay are likely to fill the third headline slot too, with the final details being thrashed out.."

A source told the newspaper "Michael was very keen to get the line-up sorted early and is over the moon at securing such massive acts. He is a huge fan of Prince and has been trying to nab him for years. The fact it's been tied up so quickly is a big but welcome shock."

The source adds, "Coldplay are currently in negotiations about taking a headline slot. Michael has previously said Coldplay's set in 2005 was his personal favourite and is very pleased to be welcoming them back."

"U2 were a fairly obvious capture. Michael immediately had his sights set on them after they were forced to cancel this year and they were very happy to oblige."

Festival organisers have not commented on the headliners, and a Glastonbury spokesman declined to comment on next year's acts, saying: "We never comment on rumours until the official line-up is announced."

This would be a first appearance at the festival for both Prince and U2, although Coldplay have already headlined the event in 2002 and 2005.

Beyonce is also strongly rumoured to be making an appearance at Glastonbury Festival next year, and eFestivals believes she will be doing a world tour next summer which will include the UK next June. There have been rumours circulating that the singer is pregnant, but these have been quashed by Tina Knowles, Beyonce's mother who denied the rumour in an interview on American television.

Although the line-up is not expected to be announced until spring, and the headliners are not expected to be confirmed until next year. It's quite possible that these acts could be the headliners who will top the weekend before the festival takes a year off.

Tickets have sold out for next year's Glastonbury Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June 2011 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. Expect something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out! A resale of returned tickets is expected in Spring of 2011.
