Rhythm Festival will return in 2007, from Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th August.

Rhythm Festival - which started in 2006 - aims to be different from other outdoor music festivals, by being smaller (a capacity of under 5,000), friendlier and geared towards the customer. There's two music stages with classic and modern acts, a bigger kid's field (including mini olympics, workshops, entertainers and dodgems), a Healing/Alternative Culture field, a Comedy stage, a Folk Club stage (organised by local clubs) and a solar-powered cinema featuring an old-style kid's morning, mini-seasons of classic comedies, gangster movies and a raft of more cutting edge movies.

Most of the acts have been announced, including Levellers, Alabama 3 (full band), Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Seth Lakeman, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers (only UK appearance in 2007) and more. To see the list of acts to-date click here.

Ike Turner has withdrawn from this year's Rhythm Festival. Said promoter, Jim Driver: 'It seems that he was unhappy with certain aspects of the arrangements. Legal constraints prevent me from commenting further at this stage. But we still have an absolutely great line-up across the three days, and this year's Festival promises to be the best yet."

The festival site is semi-permanent, and includes some flush toilets (augmented by portaloos), and proper roads and paths. The arena is a drained grassy amphitheatre and many attractions are housed indoors. Showers have been hired for the (supervised) campsites and there'll be car parking adjacent to the festival site, plus a shuttle bus from Bedford train station.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £89 for the weekend. Youths (12-17) are £69 for the weekend. One child per adult weekend ticket-holder free of charge - additional children: £25.00. Camping space (up to 5 ticket-holders in one tent) £20.00 for the weekend (not available to holders of day tickets). Campervan/caravan (up to 5 ticket-holders) £30 for the weekend (not available to holders of day tickets). Day tickets also available at £35 for the Friday and £45 each for either Saturday or Sunday.
