Musicport dates for 2009 are confirmed as Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th October, at Bridlington Spa Theatre and Royal Hall, on Bridlington's sea front, which boasts an Edwardian theatre and art deco style 1930's ballroom.
The provisional line-up includes Misty In Roots, Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara, The African Jazz Allstars, Mad Professor & Ariwa Possee, Malam Mamane Barka, Jim Moray, Banco De Gaia, Tashi Lhunpo Monks, Samay, Carmen Souza, The Hut People, Batanai Marimba, and Adriano Adewalep. This year's line-up includes music, dance and spoken word traditions from countries as diverse as Tibet, New Zealand, Chile, India, Malawi, Jamaica, D R Congo, Sudan, Philippines, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Cape Verde, Bulgaria, Niger and Brazil as well as many excellent UK based artists.
Tickets are on sale priced at £89.50, Child 11-18 years tickets are priced at £45, children aged 10 and under can go for free. To buy tickets, click here.
The festival also has workshops for adults including singing, dance, drumming, and didgeridoo. A programme of film, plenty of good cause and info stalls, trade stalls, and a Children's Festival.
Local brewery Wold Top are expected to return supplying their Wold Top Ale and last year's dark beer 'Musicporter'.
