last updated : Sun 26th Sep 04 Now in it's 5th year this festival starts at 6.30pm on Friday evening and finishes around 11pm on Sunday, promising a plethora of performance with over 40 acts across 2 stages. The organisers are hoping to avoid overlaps on the two main stages and want to offer the opportunity to see all of the performances over the weekend. Performers include: Chumbawamba, Oi Va Voi, DuOud, Baka Beyond, Peatbog Faeries, Athena, Soname, Mory Kante, Modeste, Altan, Fantazia, Fernhill, Prego, Martin Simpson, Kissmet, Bob Brozman, The Demon Barber Roadshow, Martin Furey, Taiko to Tabla, Shalom Bhakshayesh, Martyn Joseph, and the Angel Brothers. N.B. Please note that the programme has changed slightly: Forver Haqqani, Andrew Cronshaw's, 'A Cry in Silence' and Sweet Lorraine are not playing. However you can look forward to Altan and Mory Kante instead. There will be an adult workshop programme running throughout the weekend and numerous stalls selling musical instruments, crafts and so forth as well as information stalls on issues of global interest. There is a separate sessional charge for the children’s festival events (around £2 for 3 hour session) as there will be a range of artists working specifically on the children’s festival stage. It seems advisable to book early for this festival as tickets sell out fast.
