Billy Nomates, and Big Joanie (pictured) are to headline Ceremony#1, a new music alldayer which takes place at Bedford Esquires, Bedford on Saturday, 17th July 2021.

The all-day, multi room event will also feature performances by PINS, JOHN, Bleach Lab, Feet, Crows, Talk Show, Links, Grandmas House, Regressive Left, Low Girl, Thyla, and Enjoyable Listens.

Esquires owner Gareth Barber said: "'We started planning this during the last couple of months of lockdown, when it looked like we might be able to start putting gigs on again over the summer. 2020 was Esquires 30th anniversary as an independent music venue but obviously everything we had planned was cancelled. However, everyone has been so supportive of the venue over the past 12 months, so we wanted to put on an event that hopefully will be like a re-opening party and a birthday party rolled into one. The line up is notable for featuring two female headliners and 75% of the acts performing are either all female or feature a female band member. 'This wasn't contrived or even deliberate. Myself and the other promoters had a lot of late night zoom calls where we discussed who we wanted to book and we kept coming up with the same names, but when we put the line up together we were really pleased with how balanced it was in terms of gender and genres."
