A new festival has been announced for the North East, a part of the country which is a little bare of outdoor festivals. Festival On The Wall will take place near Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, on a site 12 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne, over the weekend of Friday 4th to Sunday 6th August 2017. A portion of every ticket sale will go to support UNICEF.

Already confirmed are some local lads. Friday will be headlined by North Shields-born lead vocalist Neil Tennant's Pet Shop Boys, while Saturday has Hexham's Pete Doherty with The Libertines. Also confirmed as playing over the weekend are Maximo Park, Twin Atlantic, Mark Ronson, JP Cooper, Mnek, The Sherlocks, and Calum Scott, with more acts to be announced.

The festival will include a number of themed and decorated music & DJ stages, and a roller-disco.
