Boomtown Rats have been confirmed as the headline act for Friday night's main stage at the Midlands' biggest three-day FREE festival Godiva Festival, attracting over 100,000 people from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd July 2016 at War Memorial Park.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member for Events, said, "We are really excited to have such a big name headlining our Friday night main stage. We’ve announced four bands now and the reaction so far has been incredibly positive.

"Our events team are still confirming the line up and more acts to feature on the stages, so we’ll be confirming more bands soon!"

Supporting Boomtown Rats will be Space. The announcement follows the confirmation that The Charlatans and Mystery Jets will appear on Saturday night’s main stage.

They are the first acts to be revealed for this year's line-up.

Godiva will be covering music to suit all tastes and featuring the ever-popular Godiva Unsigned, showcasing fresh, local talent.

In addition to live musical the free and ticketless event was also hosts an annual carnival, a fairground and many more family and community based activities and entertainment.
