In an exclusive interview with Emily Eavis last week, now (online here), eFestivals was told that Courtney Barnett, and Father John Misty will both be appearing at this summer's Glastonbury Festival.

In the interview Emily also talks about headliners, the ticket sales, championing new music, and ensuring a good balance of female acts on the line-up.

The Festival organiser also revealed that Strummerville will be moving to a new location this year. The traditional campfire of good vibes and impromptu music will be moving nearer to the area Emily herself brought to the Festival - The Park.

Emily told us, "Strummerville are going to be up on the hill. There’s a new spot above the tipis, a lovely spot between The Park and Kings Meadow, just right up on the hill, there’s a spinney, some trees in this beautiful spot, and we’ve been talking of doing something there for a while, so Strummerville is going there.

"They aren’t near the stone, they want something a bit more peaceful, and the South East is quite a party, so they’re going to create something. It’s not going to be quiet, it’s going to be acoustic, guitars and campfire sort of vibe.

"They’ve got some really lovely ideas, and they’ve got lots of plans we’re talking to them at the moment."

Emily also speaks of her desire to ensure the Festival remains a flagship for green initiatives. Talking to us at her home on the farm on which the Festival is held, she revealed she wants Glastonbury Festival goers to think about the fact it is a working dairy farm and do more to help in getting it back to working order when the event is over.

To this end, the organisers of the event would like Festival goers to look after their campsites more. There are also some other exciting new green initiatives which are under wraps at present, but a long term plan is in progress to get results.

Emily reveals they want attendees to be more responsible for their space, "To not trash things, and take care of it. Obviously we’ve had the ‘Love The Farm Leave No Trace’ thing, and it is getting better but we want to do more. We want people to look after their campsites more. We want people to take more pride in their camping areas, and look after their space, to collect rubbish, and not leave things in a mess. And try and encourage that somehow, we’re looking at ideas in how to do that at the moment, and are keen for any ideas on how to accomplish that.

"I think the Festival brings out the best in people, and I think people really look after each other here. Crime is so low, last year was a record low, and I think that’s because people look out for each other, and people self police without needing policemen. They tell people that they can’t do that because they’ll pollute the rivers, they can’t set off that lantern because it will damage the cows, people do tend pass the message around, and look after it as a space. It’s so big, the scale of it, that we’re not going to have the ideal level of cleanliness when everyone has left."

Some of their exciting plans are due to be revealed in the run up to June, and we'll bring you more news about them soon.

Emily also revealed that they are looking for a slot somewhere for Mann Friday.

This year's sold out Glastonbury Festival runs for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2015 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset.

As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and and hundreds of other worthy causes, both local and international.

The only other acts confirmed are Friday headliner Foo Fighters, and Lionel Richie in the teatime legends slot. There are no other acts confirmed yet for 2015, the line-up will not be announced until spring. Expect something like 2,000 performances at over 100 venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information, site art, decor, and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out!

As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2015 rumours, updated as we receive information.
