This year's Glastonbury Festival headliners Metallica have announced (here) that they will release 27 live albums featuring every show they've played in 2014 including their sets at Glastonbury in June and Sonisphere UK in July.

The CD box set of all 27 discs will go on sale at the end of the year, priced at $417, and four of the 27 live sets chosen by a fan vote will be made available on limited-edition 180g vinyl early next year.

Fans have been asked to vote (here) on which four sets should be converted to vinyl by 26th September.

Metallica say, "To celebrate ten years of Live Metallica we're going "old school" by now offering shows on compact disc! Remember those? Starting now, each week we will be releasing three shows from the 2014 By Request dates on Mondays. To keep it simple, the first three shows of 2014 from Bogata, Colombia, Quito, Ecuador and Lima, Peru are now available. Next Monday the next three shows from the South American run will be available and so on.

"For you vinyl junkies, we will be releasing select shows on limited edition 180 gram vinyl. Head over here to vote for your favs and the top four shows that receive the most votes will be pressed up for you to order in early 2015."
