Killing Joke to headline Hammerfest 2013

Post-punk legends Killing Joke top the latest acts announced for next March's Hammerfest V and will headline the Friday night.

Also announced for the line-up for HF 5 (In Fear of the Dragon) are American Doom Metal pioneers Saint Vitus.

Hammerfest talent booker Seven Webster said, "“To have both Killing Joke and Saint Vitus join our bill is a personal career highlight for me, as I have followed Killing Joke since their inception, and they have never failed to impress. To also have Saint Vitus play Hammerfest, who are an act we have always wanted to have grace the stage the cake on what I believe is one of our best line-ups to date."”

The bill will now also include Angel Witch, Viza, Hark, Serpent Venom, Undersmile, Dyscarnate, Bloodshot Dawn, Bull Riff Stampede, and Monument.

Completing the line-up are Making Monsters, Goddam Electric, The Idol Dead, Arthemis, Attica Rage, Sansara, Deadman Sugar, and Fire in the Empire.

With a 12th century Japanese Samurai culture as the back drop, the line-up includes Hatebreed, Candlemass, Sodom, Destruction, Napalm Death, Enslaved, Huntress, Senser, Iron Saviour, Heidevolk, Sister Sin, Evil Scarecrow, M-Pire of Evil, Def Con One, Texas Hippie Coalition, Shear, Chimp Spanner, Abadden, Winterfylleth, Empress, Commander in Chief, 4Arm, Stuka Squadron, RSJ, Triaxis, Sacred Mother Tongue, Jaguar, Vicous Nature, Absolva, Flayed Disciple, Line of Fire, Driven, and Black Acid Souls. In total there will be three stages and over 50 bands.

Hammerfest the festival for metal fans run by the people put on Hard Rock Hell and Metal Hammer returns for its fifth year to a new site with better units, bigger venues, more eateries and generally wider facilities on site. Hammerfest V - In Fear of The Dragon will take place from early arrival party Thurday 14th to Saturday 16th March 2013 and moves to the new larger Haven, at Pwllheli, Gwynedd, in North Wales.

Weekend tickets, for anyone 16+ years old, are available and include two night's accommodation in holiday apartments. Tickets are available priced from £125 per head, based on a group of six people sharing a silver chalet.

Tickets include two nights' accommodation and entrance to all 6 arenas as well as free car parking. Only VIP tickets include accommodation for the additional Thursday night, alternatively Thursday night add ons can be purchased for an additional £30.
