Blur's Alex James has sent a personal apology to creditors of Alex James Presents Harvest which was held on his farm in Oxfordshire.

As a follow up to our story published last month (click here) about event organiser Big Wheel Promotions going into administration.

James hosted one of two Harvest festivals on his farm back in September. The company which ran and sold tickets for both Harvest At Jimmy's (Ipswich, Suffolk) and Alex James Presents Harvest (Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire), went into administration leaving a host of unpaid creditors including a primary school near James' farm which organised for some local talent to appear at the event, for which it is still owed £7000.

The letter which James has sent to over 100 creditors, including acts, stall holders and the primary school, says, "I am appalled by Big Wheel's financial management of the festival held at my farm, which has left many out of pocket. Please be aware that I have no relationship with Big Wheel, beyond allowing them to stage the Harvest Festival at my farm and – regrettably – to use my name to stage the event. At no stage was there ever any indication that they would be unable to meet their costs. The news has come as a complete bolt from the blue (shock)."

It's not yet confirmed yet what will happen with both family friendly foodie festivals slated to run over the weekend of Friday 7th until Sunday 9th September 2012, although the festival's official facebook, (here), has posted, "We hope that things will work out and hope to be back soon", and that they plan on holding the events again next year or offering a refund to those who bought early bird tickets, adding "We are in the process of sorting things out. Next year's tickets will be honoured or refunded."

Since 2009 the 'TV star' farmer Jimmy Doherty has held the annual festival Harvest at Jimmy's in September at his farm. Last year Blur guitarist Alex James hosted the other event for the first time.
