Wizard adds Broken Records, and The Xcerts

With three weeks to go, Edinburgh based Broken Records, and The Xcerts lead the latest acts to be announced for the fifth Wizard Festival, which takes place at the New Deer Show Ground near Peterhead and Fraserburgh, North East Scotland, on August bank holiday weekend.

The Xcerts will headline the second stage, the Banshee Stage, on the Saturday, and making their first appearance at the festival Broken Records will take the top spot on the first day of the festival.

Also added to the bill are Bombskare, Hard Cash and the Folsom Four, Aberdeen band The Little Kicks, Lorelei, Iain McLaughlin & the Outsiders, Celtallica, and aka-SKA.

Peterhead based band Velvet Audio have been confirmed to open the main stage on Saturday.

Also recently confirmed for the weekend of Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August 2011 were MacFloyd, The Travelling Band, and rhythmnreel.

Roy Thain, Wizard Festival organiser said: "Almost all of our acts have been confirmed and the three stages are full of brilliant acts. We have booked lots of acts that have never been at Wizard before and there is big excitement and around this year's line-up. We are gearing up for the biggest and best Wizard so far and in these last few weeks it's just about making sure everything is in place for fans to have a brilliant time."

The Stranglers will headline Friday, and Cast Saturday, with The Magic Numbers, The Saw Doctors, The Twang, Tommy Reilly, The Bad Shepherds, Erol Alkan, The Japanese Popstars, Jon Fratelli, Sound Of Guns, and more. Wizard offers music across 4 stages. For the full details to-date, click here.

Held on a huge site with a natural amphitheatre and surrounded by some of Scotland's best scenery, Wizard is less than 30 miles from Aberdeen city centre. The festival has three stages, a two day children's programme and camping and car parking facilities. The site also has a campervan and caravan arena.

Keen to build on its family friendly atmosphere Wizard also has a separate family camping area and children aged 12 and under attend the festival for free.
