Festival Republic launch new festival in the USA

Event promoter Festival Republic have announced it plans to host a music festival in Central Florida.

The annual event is to be called Festival Republic and will be a three day music festival is set to take place from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th November 2011, with four stages of music it will be the biggest live music event of its kind in Florida taking place at the Citrus Bowl in downtown Orlando. There are no acts confirmed yet for the event and ticket prices have not yet been confirmed.

Melvin Benn, Managing Director, Festival Republic said, "I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Festival Republic is launching a brand new music event in Orlando which will bring a wealth of amazing talent to the USA's Sunshine State.

"The plans for the festival have already generated a huge amount of excitement and enthusiasm from everyone involved who cannot wait to see the first live music event of this scale take place in Florida. I have been looking for new opportunities in the US and I am really pleased that this will see the Festival Republic family expand to the US for the first time."

Festival Republic are a UK-based festival and event promoter with a portfolio including Reading and Leeds, Latitude and The Big Chill in the UK, as well as Electric Picnic in Ireland, and Hove Festival in Norway. Festival Republic or it's predecessor Mean Fiddler have tried at least twice previously without success to launch an event in the States.
