Playaway Festival is cancelled

Live Nation's new nostalgic seaside themed music festival Playaway due to be held at Butlins Resort, in Skegnes has been cancelled.

The festival's website, (here), reveals that the event will not be taking place from Friday 16th until Sunday 18th April 2010.

The festival had announced a line-up that included Alphabeat, The Futureheads, Codeine Velvet Club, Calvin Harris, Scouting For Girls, Noisettes, I Blame Coco (aka. Coco Sumner aka. Sting's daughter), Tiffany Page, Chase and Status (DJ Set), Sub Focus, MCs Rage and I.D, Plan B, Example, Daisy Dares You, Rox, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Darwin Deez, Alan Pownall, General Fiasco, Smash n Grab residents, and Queens of Noize.

A statement on the festival's website says,

"Playaway has been cancelled...

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Playaway Festival 2010 has been cancelled.

Refunds can be obtained from the original point of purchase.

Many thanks to everyone for their great support with Playaway!"

Tickets were priced at £150, for those that bought tickets please contact the point of purchase for a full refund.
