Vampire Weekend's appearance at this summer's Glastonbury Festival has been confirmed by Emily Eavis on twitter.

Vampire Weekend
eFestivals has had the band on our rumour list since the 4th January (as a to be confirmed) and Festival organiser Emily Eavis confirmed via her twitter that Vampire Weekend will be playing Glastonbury Festival on Friday 25th June, after BBC6music radio DJ Lauren Laverne twittered to her when the New York band dropped into radio show this morning.

On Twitter, Laverne tweeted, "Vampire Weekend's request to play Glasto has been answered - RT @emilyeavis @laverneshow YES, FRIDAY 25th?!"

Tickets have sold out for this summer's Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010 across a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. There will be no more tickets on sale until later this year.

As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours between now and the official line-up announcement at the end of May/beginning of June, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2010 rumours, updated as we receive information.
