Scotland's Wizard Festival organisers have offered ticket holders who hoped to attend Beachdown this weekend a festival lifeline.

The festival, that will be held this weekend in the heart of Aberdeenshire's countryside, has offered Beachdown fans a chance to travel North and attend Wizard for £10.

Wizard festival has increased its capacity this year and could accommodate disappointed festival fans from South of the boarder.

Admission the Wizard would be on production of a valid Beachdown festival weekend pass and a surcharge of £10 would be made at the gate.

Wizard has increased capacity this year due to double the amount of people attending the event last year than in the previous year.

Roy Thain, Wizard festival organiser said, "Normally because of the travel distances involved and the late notice we may not have stepped in to provide festival goers with this offer. However as it is a bank holiday weekend, and we run on the Friday and Saturday there is still a chance for fans to travel up to Wizard and enjoy the great atmosphere we have at the festival. This is a great opportunity for Wizard to showcase its event a little further afield and it will add a more diverse flavour to the festival this year if fans make the journey up to Wizard. We have kept charges to a minimum as we are aware that there will be travel cost implications but we hope that some festival fans will be able to take us up on our offer."

Admission to Wizard will be on production of a valid Bechdown pass only. The £10 fee paid at the gate will include camping and car parking. All children aged twelve and under are admitted free to Wizard.

Anyone interested should email: angela@wizardfestival.com for further information.

Headlining on Friday are Levellers, with support from The Beat, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and King Voodoo. Saturday headliners will be The Charlatans, with Buzzcocks, and The Travelling Band in support. There are four stages and more than sixty acts scheduled to perform across two days. There is a full two day programme of events for children held in the 'wee wizards' arena.

The Wizard Festival, now in its third year, takes place at the New Deer Show Ground near Peterhead and Fraserburgh, in North East Scotland on the August bank holiday weekend - Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August 2009.

Tickets are on sale priced at £70 for an adult weekend ticket (includes camping and parking from 1pm Fri to noon Sun) or £45 for a Saturday adult day ticket (includes camping & parking Saturday only), a campervan/caravan ticket is priced at £20. Children 12 years old and under go free.
