Will Young to headline GuilFest's second stage

plus The Stranglers and The King Blues head for Guildford

Wednesday 8th April 2009

Will Young, The Stranglers, and The King Blues have been added to this year's GuilFest 2009.

Will Young
The singer-songwriter Will Young will be keeping the 2nd Stage 'Evergreen' with a headlining performance. The inaugural Pop Idol winner, who has gone on to become one of the country's leading solo artists, will bring his hits such as 'Leave Right Now' and 'All Time Love' to GuilFest on Sunday evening.

The Stranglers will be ensuring there's 'Always The Sun' at GuilFest's main stage when they celebrate their 25th anniversary supporting Motorhead on Friday. The band who were originally called The Guildford Stranglers, return to their home turf at GuilFest for the first time since 2006.

Also making a return to GuilFest are ska punks The King Blues who revisit the Rocksound Rock Cave, having last played there in 2007. The band will showcase their upbeat dub laden songs like 'Save The World, Get The Girl', and 'What If Punk Never Happened' this time as headliners of the Rock Cave on Sunday.

They join the previously announced acts for the line-up of Motorhead, Brian Wilson, Happy Mondays, Athlete, The Charlatans, The Wailers, Nouvelle Vague, Imelda May and Eat Static.

The music starts at around 5pm on the Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday. Music finishes at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, with an earlier 9:30pm finish on Sunday.

Tickets are priced at £100 for an adult weekend, £110 weekend with camping. For children aged between 12 and 16 years old tickets are priced at £50 for the weekend, or £60 for weekend with camping. N.B. Children between 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged under 12 have free entry with a ticket holding adult.
