Moonfest which was due to take place at Storridge Farm, Westbury, Wiltshire from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August have announced various options for those who have tickets for the cancelled event in a post on the eFestivals' forums (here).

The festival lost their license for the Friday of the event after magistrates upheld the police's use for the first time of Section 160 (orders to close premises in an area experiencing disorder) of the Licensing Act 2003. This made trying to host the event with a third of the festival missing impossible.

Surfstock are running their festival on the same weekend as Moonfest (Friday 29th until Sunday 31st August) and have today confirmed that they will honour Moonfest tickets for their festival at no extra charge. If ticket holders for Moonfest fancy going they must email them first at tickets@surfstock.co.uk. Thse festival goers that attend Surfstock will still be eligible to go to Moonfest 2009 as well with no extra charge.

Moonfest have also confirmed that will soon be inviting the people who have bought tickets to a private performance held on a date to be confirmed shortly. Pete Doherty has already offered to put on a private performance for free and since then many other bands that were booked to play at Moonfest have come forward to offer their services at the forthcoming party. The artists include 4th Street Traffic, and the Ozric Tentacles, with more acts to be confirmed. Invitations will be sent out to ticket holders soon.

The organisers also confirm that they have not been put off by the recent events and Moonfest will happen in 2009. Tickets for 2008 will be valid for Moonfest 2009 and ticket holders are urged to hold onto them and attend next year's event.

For those who have tickets for 2008 and don't want to attend any of the the above above, organisers ask to please email them at tickets@moonfest.co.uk and they will send a refund form.

The festival had a line-up that included The Australian Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Zenyth, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Shakatak, Heaven 17, Go West, and Imagination.
