There's good news for anybody wanting to purchase a ticket for this year's Glastonbury Festival, you can now buy tickets with a credit card which wasn't previously an option, and for no extra cost!

There's also more good news. The weather forecast people at Metcheck have updated their forthcoming events forecasts, and given this year's Glastonbury Festival (here) a prediction of good weather.

With a better forecast and only a few weeks to go until the weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June it's pretty incredible that the Festival still has tickets available.

There's an enormous variety of acts heading for Worthy Farm, Pilton, near Glastonbury, Somerset, far more than any other festival in the country, and Glastonbury is far more than a Festival that's just about the music. There's so much else happening across the huge site, that if anything it's more about being there in a tented city that materialises over the week, and an experience of a lifetime.

There's so much on offer that the cost of a ticket for what is really now a five day festival works out as tremendous value for money at just £32 a day (for all five days), even more so when you consider that there's more new and breaking talent being showcased than any other line-up this summer.

Kings of Leon

Of course the headliners have caused as much controversy as they do every year, both Arctic Monkeys and Muse were considered unsuitable when they were announced. Yet surely it's time for the The Kings Of Leon to make the step up and this appearance at Glastonbury could well be the one to achieve it, and turn them into mega stars just as Muse's headline appearance did for Matt Bellamy and co.

As for Jay-Z, few of the British public have seen him play live, and it's very likely that he, possibly with the help of Mrs-Z too, will pull off a brilliant set, every report suggests that he puts on superb shows. Festival organiser Emily Eavis has described his live performances as "phenomenal", and if he pulls it off it will be a show that will be talked about for years, a seminal moment in the Festival's history.

Noel Gallagher's comments about Jay-Z being unsuitable as a headline act and Glastonbury being a festival for 'guitar based' bands is totally unfounded and if the festival was, why did his band perform such a universally considered awful set the last time they appeared? The choice of music at Glastonbury has to be the most varied of any festival this summer, and there's more than enough to keep a fan of any music happy.

Glastonbury has always led the way in terms of festivals, and sure enough it has green credentials many other festivals have emulated, with schemes Glastonbury festival has adopted for years now being implemented at all over the place. This year Glastonbury goes even further. Now, at the gates alongside the comprehensive free programmes, a reusable unbleached cotton bag, and recycling bin bags there are free biodegradable tent pegs for us all to get green and keep the farm clean.

With the main worry for everyone - the mud - looking less and less likely, it looks all set for Glastonbury Festival to come roaring back as the event of the summer.
