Yorfest has been cancelled.

A statement from Yorfest says:

"It is with much regret that we announce the cancellation of Yorfest for this year.

Unfortunately due to a number of circumstances beyond our control we (the committee) have come to the realisation that we are unable to stage the festival that we had originally conceived; one that would meet the high expectations of both artists and audience. We would like to express our sincere regrets to the artists, and to everyone who has been working hard trying to bring Yorfest to fruition.

We'd also like to thank the fans who've already bought tickets, and can only apologise that we are not able to deliver the festival that you wanted. Ticket holders will be automatically receive a full refund from their ticket agents.

We are agreeing for the Festival to be same time next year, and now that everything is in place, we would be spending the next 12 months promoting the event."

Yorfest is a new festival which bills itself as "a Yorkshire Festival, with Yorkshire bands for Yorkshire people" happening on Saturday 27th September 2014 at York Racecourse Field, in York.

Line-up

The first acts to be announced are Beth McCarthy, The Sherlocks, Vinnie And The Stars.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £15.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
