Held in Derbyshire, the Y-Not Festival started in 2006 with over 30 bands and DJs. This 3 day young festival steers away from sponsorship and high prices. In 2008 the festival runs from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd August over two stages at a site on Mouldridge Lane, near Matlock, Derbyshire.

The festival attempts to have an intimate nature, with many of the bands camping with festival goers, and friendly stewards. The festival will be increasing its capacity this year to 2500 people offering 50 acts across 2 stages with a diverse mix of music from Indie rock right through to high energy African music to Rock and Roll. Late night entertainment includes a dance tent, or camp fire singalongs and there will be real ales and local ciders available.

Confirmed acts include on the main stage include Sunday headliners Hot Club De Paris, Frank Turner, The Virgin Marys, Edison, The Skies, The Fallout Theory, New Groove Formation, Max Raptor, Hijack Oscar, The Fillmore Gears, Corkstone, The Fideal Effect, Boy Com, Factory Rich, Black Alley Screens, Rebel Control, and Ceasefire. Artists for the Acoustic stage have not yet been confirmed. For full line-up details to date click here.

Weekend tickets cost £36 and include 3 nights camping. Youth (10-15 - ID required) tickets £25. Under 10s free. Day tickets are available priced as follows: Friday £16, Saturday £19 and Sunday £14 each. To buy tickets click here. All tickets are now to be collected at the festival.

To reduce the festival's carbon footprint and also to increase accessibility, there will be a free shuttle bus which connects the Buxton - Ashbourne bus route, and Matlock train station to the Festival. Travellers simply book their free place online at www.ynotfestivals.com/bus.php.
