Wimborne Folk Festival was founded in 1980 and has become one of the largest gathering of dance teams and musicians in the South of England.
The event is based on the town centre's streets and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the UK, and from the rest of the world. The festival features both contemporary and traditional music with a mixture of singers and musicians, plus Morris Dancers, ceilidh groups and callers.
Concerts take place at the Tivoli Theatre and Allendale Centre. There are no artists booked for 2008.
Tickets:
The Weekend Season ticket will entitle the holder to unlimited access to any or all of the Festival Concerts and Ceilidhs. Individual evening or afternoon concert tickets are also available. Accompanied children under 8 years get in free. There is a 10% reduction for senior citizens and students on weekend tickets only. All lunchtime concerts and workshops are free.
