The first Ukulele Festival Of Great Britain will be held over two days on Saturday 19th June and Sunday 20th June 2010 at various venues in Cheltenham, in Gloucestershire.

Line-up

Sunday's line-up at this family friendly event includes The Re-Entrants, Gus & Fin, Hot Potato Syncopators, Winin' Boys, Zaza & Jaynickel, Steven Sproat, The Uke Box, L'uke, The Anything Goes Orchestra, Ukulele Bart, The Night Owls, and Clive Harvey.

Tickets

An adult all weekend ticket is priced at £24, and junior weekend ticket for children aged 16 and under is priced at £16. These tickets give access to all activities throughout the weekend, including the Gala Night on Saturday 19th June and the main event on Sunday 20th June. A Gala Night (Saturday) only ticket is priced at £6. A Sunday only adult ticket is priced at £19.50, with a junior Sunday only ticket priced at £10. To buy tickets, click here.

Programme

The festival will start on Saturday morning with 'The Big Busk' where relative beginners will be able to join in. This will take place in The Promenade. There will be an afternoon of performance, jamming, workshops and general ukulele fun. In the evening is The Gala Night - a night of entertainment including a Ukulele Club competition, open mic and other performances.

The main event for the festival will take place on Sunday, starting at midday and closing at around 10.30pm. There will be a full line-up, with two stages, workshops, stands (where you can buy ukuleles, ukulele-related merchandise, festival stalls, and more. This will take place in the Cheltenham Town Hall.

Accommodation

Camping is available for the festival priced at £8 per person per night, off site the campsite has toilets, but no showers. Hot bacon rolls are available in the morning (not included in price)as well as a taxi service to the festival (not included in price). There are also a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in Cheltenham itself.
