The sixth annual Royal Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival takes place from Saturday 9th May until Sunday 11th October 2009.

This year the Festival will focus on the human voice as well as celebrating Handel, Haydn and Purcell anniversaries. Several schools will be involved in related Outreach projects and in a concert with the City of London Sinfonia (CLS) to mark the centenary of the Borough's royal title.

The event welcomes artists including oboist Nicholas Daniel with the superb CLS, jazz singer Tina May, Timothy West and Philharmonia Voices (for a unique presentation of The Pilgrim's Progress), violinist Ken Aiso, organist Howard Moody, Cuban soprano Iliana Machada and more.

The events confirmed for the festival are:
Saturday 11th May Festival Launch Concert with High Weald family ensemble at Trinity Arts Centre.
Friday 15th May Chamber Music Concert at King Charles the Martyr.
Saturday 16 May Sagrado at Daneby Hall.
Saturday 17th May Organ Recital with Thomas Trotter in theVictorian Science Theatre.
Thursday 11th June Literary Lunch with Victoria Hislop at Hotel du Vin.
Sunday 14th June John Bunyan's 'The Pilgrim’s Progress' with the Philharmonia Orchestra's choral ensemble at Tonbridge School Chapel.
Sunday 11th October Concert to celebrate the 'Royal' centenary at Assembly Hall Theatre.
