This is Scotland's biggest and best festival, normally held on the second weekend of July. Its popularity has grown massively in the last few years, making it an almost instant sell-out.
The 13th T in the Park will be held at Balado (as usual) on 8/9th July 2006. It has already secured a licence, after being the first festival in the UK to secure a three-year licence, from 2005 lasting until 2007.
The license is still subject to various conditions, but the organisers say it would be easy for the festival to extend its capacity, if it wanted, without an updated license being required. It has been reported that the organisers hope to increase the capacity to 80,000 for 2006.
T in the Park started in 1994 at Strathclyde Country Park in Glasgow, moving about 30 miles north of Edinburgh to the old airfield at Balado in 1997.
