With 120 events over 17 days the 2006 Salisbury International Arts Festival weaves together performance, visual arts, literature and music and aims to envelop the city of Salisbury in a colourful and vibrant celebration of the arts.

The festival will present a major programme of indigenous Australian cultural expression with a mix of performance, music, dance, art and storytelling among other fantastic events for music and arts lovers of all ages from puppetry and youth theatre, to jazz and world, classical and contemporary music plus speakers and workshops.

Highlights of the Festival include:
Billy Bragg with Seth Lakeman; Los de Abajo; City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; Tenebrae with The English Concert; a World premiere of Songs In Time of War, with music by Alec Roth and words by Vikram Seth; Aboriginal Bardi dancers at Stonehenge; Margaret Atwood; Kate Mosse; Doris Pilkington; and bands such as Chien Bizarre; and a Larmer Tree Night featuring a cross section of the diverse styles of music that are a part of Larmer Tree festival with the Eighteenth Day of May and Oojami.

Many events are held at Salisbury Arts Centre, and also right across town, in village halls and schools. There are free events nearly every day.
