The Great North Folk Festival is the new name for Festival on the Moor's May Folk Weekend takes place at Botton Village, nestled in Danby Dale in the Esk Valley, and takes place from Friday 27th until Monday 30th May 2016, on the bank holiday weekend.

Line-up

The first acts confirmed for thew 16th edition are The Willows, Woody Mann, The Froe, Richard Grainger, Dick Miles, Bob Fox Carnac, Paul & Liz Davenport, Steve Dawes & Helen Pitt, Colleen's Fancy, Devils Water, Rebekah Findlay Trio, Derek Gifford, Chris Milner, Tom Patterson & Dave Morton, Peg Powler, People from the Past, Peter Taylor, Two's Company, Wetherby Folk Chorale, Yorkshire Light, Harlequin Ladies Morris, and Richmond Castle Clog. Expect more than 30 acts line up for more than 100 performances over the four days.

Early bird adult weekend tickets are priced at £42. Concessions (65 & over, unwaged, student) are priced at £37, and child tickets (for those aged 5-16 year) £18. Day tickets are also available priced at £22 for adults for Saturday or Sunday.

On site camping for adults/concessions (age 10 and over) is priced at £15.

The weekend also offers singarounds, craft & music workshops, and an all day acoustic programme and real ale Bar.

As well as music there's historic re-enactors,childrens entertainment, traditional dance, ceilidh, festival food, real ale bar, workshops, meet the artists spots, concerts and arts & crafts on display and for sale, cd sales, and festival T-shirts.

Camping

Festival Campsite 1.2 m from Festival site (Hopper bus between site & main venue) Portable loos. Use of shower available. Part of small working farm and beautiful views of surrounding countryside.
