After a year off, the celebration of Plymouth's multicultural society with a fusion of music, performance, arts and information returns with a new festival format hosted at Plymouth University on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 2013.

Many cultures will represented at the event which is organised by the Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council.

Line-up

RSVP, Black Voices, Drumscapes with Jon Sterckx, Baluji Shrivastav and the Inner Vision Orchestra, The Peninsula Doctors' Orchestra, and The Kala Chethena Kathakali Company.

There will also be Respect 4 Respect - a whole programme of events happening alongside the Plymouth Respect Festival and throughout the rest of the year.

Other events

Discussions over the precise programme are ongoing, but it is hoped students from the University will in future play a larger part in the festival and that it would include related projects featuring the city’s primary and secondary schools.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.

For more information, see the Plymouth Respect Festival website.
