English Heritage has announced that the Summer Picnic Concerts at Audley End House and Gardens will go ahead as usual this summer. The English Heritage Summer Picnic Concerts at Audley End in Saffron Walden, Essex, take place from Friday 3rd August to Sunday 5th August 2012.

Enjoy a summer evening at one of the English Heritage Summer Picnic Concerts. Gather a group of friends and family and enjoy the music, relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking setting. It is a unique way to spend a Saturday summer's evening.

Line-up

The programme for 2012 is planned as follows:
Audley End, Saffron Walden
Fri 03 August Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, with Gilson Lavis, special guest Chris Difford and guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.

Sat 04 August The Best 80's Party... Ever! with Rick Astley, Jimmy Somerville, Midge Ure, Nick Kershaw, T'pau, Toyah, Whang Chung and Dr and the Medics.

Sun 05 August Last Night of the Audley End Proms compered by Aled Jones with Natasha Marsh, vocal quartet Amore and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Tim Redmond.

Tickets are priced at £32 for Friday or Sunday, and £35 for Saturday. To buy tickets, click here.

More info

Doors will open early for concert goers to enjoy the East Park and picnic. There will be ample food and drink stalls as well as a bar and a concert shop.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
