Otley Folk Festival 2009

The eighteenth Otley Folk Festival takes place over 4 days from 17th - 20th September 2009.

It's a folk festival that's said to have a distinctly family feel, with a variety of events taking place at different venues around the picturesque market town of Wharfedale between Ilkley and Leeds, on the A660.

This year's massive line-up includes the following artists: Show of Hands with Miranda Sykes, Chris Sherburn & Denny Bartley, Mawkin/Causley, Ben & Joe Broughton, Steve Tilston & Dave Bowie, Ember, Harvey Andrews, Duncan McFarlane Band, Rosie Doonan & Snapdragon, Hekety, Grace Notes, Something Nasty In The Woodshed, Bayou Gumbo, Suitcase Circus, Robin Garside, Anna Shannon, Stanley Accrington, The Durbervilles, Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts, Dave Vermond, Michelle Plum & Nick Hall, Gerry McNeice, The Allensmith, Gerry Cooper, The Hall Brothers with John Carey, Jim Lawton, Mark Longster, Mike Wood, Lime Scurvy, Wendy Arrowsmith, In No Particular Order, Five and Dimers, The Matt Nelson Trio, Phil Langran, Chris Milner, Friendly Visit, Ian Hill, Anne Jackson, Mark Lunn, Cartouche, Malcolm Devereux, Shaun Murphy, Copper Kettle, Feldspar, and Jon Palmer.

The weekend ticket covers all events from Friday evening through to Sunday night. There may be a small extra charge for Thursday's events which kick off with an acoustic evening at the Red Lion, a concert at Korks Wine Bar (the home of Otley Folk Club) and a folk night at the Cricket Club.

There are also callers, dance troupes and Morris sides (including the following: Dance Sides, Flash Company, Kitchen Taps, Flagcrackers, Rhubarb Tarts, Buttercross Belles, Jig Crew, Chippenham Morris, Medusa, The Minster Strays, Yorkshire Coast Morris, Wayzgoose), plus workshops, and real ale.
