The Svapnagata Festival happens at Sadler's Wells, London from Monday 16th until Saturday 28th November 2009.

Meaning 'dreaming' in Sanskrit, Svapnagata is a unique two-week festival of Indian music and dance curated by dancer and choreographer Akram Khan and composer Nitin Sawhney.

With a wide range of events taking place in the main house and the Lilian Baylis Studio, the festival offers an array of performances from Indian musicians, dancers and choreographers, presenting classical work in a contemporary context.

The line-up of programmed events is as follows:

Mon 16 November - Akram Khan: Gnosis with Gauri Sharma Tripathi and Pratap Pawar.
Tue 17 November - Nitin Sawhney: Acoustic Evening with a line-up of international musicians.
Wed 18 November - U Shrinivas, accompanied by his brother U Rajesh on mandolin and a ghatam and mridhangham artist.
Fri 20 November - Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry: Nagamandala
Sat 21 November - Aditi Mangaldas & Priyadarshini Govind
Sun 22 November - Trilok Gurtu Orchestra
Mon 23 November - Shantala Shivalingappa: Shiva Ganga accompanied by a traditional, live orchestra
Tue 24 November - Anoushka Shankar
Thu 26 - Sat 28 November - Akram Khan & Nitin Sawhney: Confluence - A brand new production
