A brand new Extreme Sports and Music Festival, Xuberance Weekend, will happen at the Royal International Pavilion in Llangollen on June 9 and 10.

The event will showcase the vast range of extreme sports activities already available in North Wales. Areas already confirmed include a Freestyle Motocross Arena – featuring top uk riders in a head-to-head competition; A Dirt BMX / MTB competition; A Street Course Skate Park (Skate, blade, BMX, Scooters) with public access & classes; A Vert Half Pipe competition; Mountain Bike display team; The North Wales Activities area – bringing extreme sports companies from across N Wales together to show the diverse range of activities available; Rock Climbing Wall; One-man tethered hot air balloon rides; Extreme Carving – Simon O’Rourke (international chainsaw carver) will host a ‘carve a go-kart comp’ featuring the UK’s finest carvers. Each team will be give a log and two days to carve a kart which will then be raced on the Sunday afternoon; Kayaking experience, with more to follow soon.

Alongside the extreme sports, there's also music. Performances will take place in The Royal International Pavilion, a purpose built music venue set in the centre of the site. The canvas walls at the rear of the pavilion will be removed, allowing the main stage to become a focal point - seen and heard from all areas of the site. During the weekend local bands will be given the opportunity to perform, allowing them to demonstrate their talents by providing background music for ‘Extreme Sports’ performances. Extreme Sports action conclude each day at around 6pm, with the focus then switching to the main stage for a pulsating evening concert session featuring headlining acts. (T.B.C)

Other areas include: a Retail village All the essentials; including the latest equipment, fashion and music; Open Busking competition – entertaining the crowds and competing for cash prizes; Fairground rides - A handful of extreme fairground rides will be available; Circus skills workshops – to teach educate and entertain; Fun Zone – inflatable slides, gladiator duel, sumo-suit wrestling, simulators, computer games bungee jump and more; Information points – providing advice on careers, sports club availability, info on skateparks, where to ride, safety issues etc; plus food stalls, merchandise stands, licensed bars and more.

Tickets go on sale on 1st March, priced at £25 for a day, or £40 for the weekend.
