The John Lennon Northern Lights Festival takes place in Durness, Sutherland, Scotland, from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th September. The weekend features classical, jazz, traditional Scottish, and popular music plus arts (theatre, exhibitions and film) and children's entertainment. Most of the daytime and children's entertainment is free.

Acts confirmed for Friday are as follows: Nizlopi, Mr. Hudson and The Library, John Cooper Clarke, and King Creosote.

Playing on Saturday are Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Eclipse Strings, Julia Baird, and Carol Ann Duffy.

Sunday's line-up is comprised of Donnie Munro, Blazin Fiddles, Julie Fowlis, and Geoff Baker.

There will also be poets and writers, including Kevin MacNeil, Michael Horovitz, Steve Turner, Alistair McIntosh, Michael Russel MSP and Donny O'Rourke.

Scottish artists playing over the weekend include: Rushmore, Our Lunar Activities, Injuns, Face the West, Pop-Up, Foxface, Purplemelon, Astronot, Rachel Mayfield, Tom Brookes, and The Boy Who Trapped the Sun.

CAMPING etc
Accommodation and camping available in the village. An all-inclusive weekend ticket including camping and transport from to and from Durness to towns in the locality (Inverness, Ullapool, Alness, Golspie, Wick, Thurstow and others en route) is currently being offered at £95 per person.
