last updated : Wed 22nd Aug 07

The Barnsley Original Music Festival (BOMFEST) 2007 takes place on Saturday the 25th August, and runs from noon until midnight.

The event is held at the Miners Memorial Site in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and will cost £2.50 for entry. Tickets are currently on sale in Barnsley (The Arches, Utopia Music, Pulse Bar, Avitextreme & String Stocks) and Sheffield (Under The Boardwalk).

The site is a 20 minute walk from the bus/train station. There will also be parking available opposite the site, for which there will be a charge.

Bands confirmed to play include Senser, Father, Seventh Son, The X Rippers, Straight Razor Angels, Latte, the Paradigms, The Jives, The Love Ants, Sagar, Carl Howson, Steph Shaw, as well as Channel 4’s Pop World Winner’s Midair 91 and Area 15.

The Darley Arts Stage will cater for anyone who wants to get up and play a musical instrument. In the past full bands have taken advantage of this stage and they also run DJ workshops, poi (spinning and fire spinning) and balloon animals, plus much more. There is also a designated Children’s Area with small fun fair rides and a bouncy castle. There is also Stalls (clothing, jewellery, public information, etc) , food vendors and a beer tent, which again has been improved to cope with the large demand.

There are no bottles or cans aloud on the Festival Site at any time and all persons under the age of 18 years old must leave the site at 7pm.

There will be more information here when available.
