Moor and Coast festival 2008

Centered around Whitby Community College, the venue includes a campsite (with indoor facilities and showers), and Main Concert Hall with real ale bar. There's also a secondary venue at the Friendship Rowing Club in Church Street, in the old part of Whitby where smaller concerts and events take place, with a large window acting as the backdrop to the stage overlooking Whitby and the river.

Most of the acts have already been confirmed. The line-up includes the following:
Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy with Chris Parkinson; John Tams & Barry Coope; Elbow Jane; Winter Wilson; George Papavgeris; Cloud Street; Flossie; Steve & Kristi Nebel; Hall Brothers; George Welch; Workshy Profits; Whitby Community Choir; Roger Sutcliffe; Geoff Turner; Widdershins; Mr Fox; Kuriosaköran; Tina Taylor; The Young’uns; Ylem; Annapurna Indian Dance; David Livingstone; Coblers Monday; Copper Kettle; Judie Knight; Jim McDonald; and Ken Hall, with more to be announced.

Whitby Town Centre is only 10 minutes walk from the main venue. Here, the sessions for sing-a-rounds and musicians and the folk club will be held plus dance displays on the harbour side. As well as concerts and dances, there will be ceilidhs, ghost walks, workshops and street entertainment.

TICKETS
Adult weekend tickets are priced at £44. Adult day tickets £24 either day. Kids' tickets are half price for 10 - 14 year olds who must be accompanied by an adult. Weekend camping is £14 per adult and £7 per child. To buy tickets click here.
