Held as an event in its own right, before the Summer Sundae Weekender, The Leicester Fringe event showcases music and arts from Leicester, in Leicester's independent venues alive all whilst raising money for good causes locally. The Fringe takes place on Thursday 11th August and marks the sixth time the city has hosted a warm up for Summer Sundae festival.

It is the first time the event has been run by the Leicester Fringe Festival. The ethos for the event remains very similar to the previous years and many of the people behind past Fringe Thursdays have remained as organisers of this years event.
