The dates for 2008 are confirmed as Wednesday 16th - Sunday 20th July.
A festival of largely acoustic folk and world music, but also roots, blues, jazz, Americana, reggae and more. Acts already confirmed for 2008 include Jools Holland & his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra with support from acoustic blues artist Eric Bibb opening the festival on Wednesday, while on the Thursday there's the Levellers and Bellowhead, plus over the weekend there's Kate Rusby, Julie Fowlis, Son of Dave, Ruth Notman, 12 Stone Toddler, The Bedouin Jerry Can Band, and on Sunday Tinariwen, bring their unique blend of desert blues to the festival. The festival generally has a lovely chilled atmosphere, and is child-friendly, all set on a gorgeous site in lovely Victorian pleasure gardens with a free campsite next door, with free showers and well serviced toilets. There's numerous workshops for adults and children, therapy sessions and street theatre are also on offer.
To tie in with National Year of Reading, the Lostwood will be home to storytelling and poetry, including a performance by renowned poet Phil Bowen. There will also be writing workshops, family singing workshops and spoken word events, a Little Library especially for children.
