This the fifth Summer Arts Festival for Ipswich. For two weeks, from June 24th to July 8th, Ipswich aims to become the cultural focus for arts in the region, with a full programme of events from music and drama through to visual art, film, and literature by national and locally based organisations and artists.

One central event is The Music Day which takes place on 16th July. This is a free family event, showcasing many of the brightest and best acts on the local music scene, with six stages set in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park and Mansion. This is expected to include plenty of activities for children, including a small fairground. Car parking is free.

Other music events include the following: Ola Onnabulo (28th June); CSV RAW (6th July); and Funk Fest (7th July); plus rock nights; and sound sculptures and trails in Christchurch Park.

As well as using the more traditional spaces, Ip-art takes exhibitions and performances into public buildings and spaces throughout the town. This colourful combination aims to include tradition, innovation and imagination within the arts in Ipswich.
